COMMERCIAL FACILITIES
HR BioPetroleum expects to move aggressively to complete the development of commercial-scale facilities that are to be co-located next to large industrial plants with concentrated CO2 output levels such as power plants, cement factories and ethanol plants. Utilizing only brackish water an HRBP algae farm converts sunlight, CO2 from the industrial plant, and other nutrients into algae oil. This oil is then converted into transportation fuel or is returned to the power plant as fuel to generate power. The residual algae biomass can be used as a feedstock for animal feed or for other applications. Alternatively, the entire amount of algae biomass can be burned directly by the industrial plant to generate power.
Industrial plants will be targeted for commercialization based on climate, proximity to non-potable water and land availability in addition to the ability to utilize or market algae-based products such as oil, animal feed and nutrition products.
