HR BioPetroleum maintains a unique position in the production of biofuel feedstocks: the ability to rapidly and economically convert carbon dioxide, a pollutant from industrial smoke stacks, into a feedstock that can be converted into biodiesel, other biofuels, and other valuable products. Our novel and propriety algae-based technology has been validated over several years in a small-scale (2 hectare) commercial facility located in Hawaii that serves as our pilot facility, which formed the basis for a world-class joint venture established in late 2007 with Royal Dutch Shell. This joint venture, called Cellana, is constructing a demonstration facility on the Kona coast of Hawaii to grow marine algae and produce vegetable oil for conversion into biofuel. HRBP expects to use the design of, and knowledge gained through the operation of, the Kona Demonstration Facility, as the springboard for commercializing its first set of commercial algae facilities.
